- The hook
- All 16 resorts in the game are real, spread over five countries — France, Canada, Switzerland, Austria and Scotland — and every one is a firm favourite of the authors. Players can visit their favourite resorts or explore their bucket list: Chamonix, Val Thorens, Courchevel, Méribel, Tignes, Val d’Isère, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Les Trois Vallées, Alpe d’Huez, Avoriaz, Verbier, St. Anton, Mayrhofen, Aviemore and Whistler.
About the Game
Ready Steady Slope is a fast, fun set-collection card game for skiers, snowboarders and their families — and just as much for casual gamers who have never clicked into a binding. Every player chooses to ride as a skier or a snowboarder, then races to gear up, ride the lifts and complete their pistes at one of 16 real resorts — while blizzards, wipeouts and rivals stealing your runs get in the way. Games take 20–30 minutes, nobody sits out for long, fortunes can quickly change, and it plays as well in a chalet as it does at the kitchen table in July.
Ready Steady Slope has been in the works since 2024 — designed and published by Lava Labs B.V., an independent studio in the Netherlands, and built by lifelong snowheads who set it in the resorts they ride. The full story, from first prototype to print, is in the designer diaries on BoardGameGeek .
